Stay Comfortable In Houston’s Summer Heat And Humidity

Houston, Texas, is the nation’s fourth largest city, and for good reason. Art, ethnic restaurants, beaches, and of course a Space Center, are only a few of the things to do and see while in Houston.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science features Treasures of Ancient Afghanistan, gems and minerals, dinosaurs, and a planetarium. Johnson Space Center is where all the planning and training happen for most of the launches which take place in Florida. Touch an actual moon rock, or gaze at the command module from Apollo 17, used in 1972 on the last trip to the moon by humans.

If you have children, check out Discovery Green. A 10 acre park with play fountains, a lake and playground that are sure to keep your young ones cool and happy. The Children’s Museum of Houston has hands on activities that will keep them busy for hours.

For outdoor exploring, George Ranch Historical Park has 480 acres for you to enjoy. Visit a cabin, 19th century Victorian home, and learn some of Texas’s history. The Armand Bayou Nature Center is a 1,900 acre reserve featuring hiking, bird watching, and an educational experience for everyone.
